The PvEvP focused, survival-action shooter is set in the rural American Midwest town of Silver Creek, which has been left in ruins following the spread of Dollar Flu.
“What’s happening in Silver Creek? Uncover the mystery before a new breed of poison spreads everywhere,” reads a description for the game.
“Follow the expanding story to discover why this once peaceful town has become the center of a violent conflict between a group of dangerous rogue Division agents and an aggressive band of nomadic survivors. But the AI factions and other player squads aren’t the only danger…”
The game is yet to receive a release date, and according to the game’s website, further PC tests are expected in the future, suggesting that the game could launch in an early access state.
In September Ubisoft announced that The Division 3 is in early development.
The publisher announced that Julian Gerighty, who’s currently serving as creative director on Star Wars Outlaws, has also been appointed executive producer of The Division series.
As part of the announcement, it was confirmed that The Division 3 will be one of the projects Gerighty will oversee, and that Massive Entertainment will be leading development as it has done with the previous two games.
“As Executive Producer, Julian Gerighty will oversee all The Division games and products, including Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, led by Massive Entertainment who is actively building a team for the game,” Ubisoft’s statement says.
