The Boys season 3 showrunner Eric Kripke talks about the surprise appearance of an A-list star in a major meta superhero cameo in the opening episode. The new season kicks off with a scene from Dawn of the 7, a faux movie adaptation of the superhero team, playing themselves for the most part, including team leader Homelander (Antony Starr), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), and A-Train (Jessie T. Played by Aya Cash in The Boys season 2, Stormfront is instead played by actress Charlize Theron in the opening of The Boys season 3, hamming up the role in meta style. The dialogue is meant to be on the cheesier side and Theron portrays Stormfront completely straight, uttering silly Nazi dialogue in an earnest fashion, while squaring off with The Seven in the fake film. Things get even more meta when compared to Theron's other recent superhero cameo at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Clea, making her turn in The Boys season 3 her second superhero role in the last month.
