Caution: spoilers ahead for The Boys season 3
The Boys' ability to parody the MCU has evolved into an eerily accurate cultural foresight thanks to season 3's shocking «Dawn of the Seven» cameo. From Soldier Boy's twisted Captain America to the «VCU» and «Vought+,» The Boys gleefully rips on Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of its brutal superhero movie take-down. An in-universe film that serves as a brilliant spoof of both the DCEU's Justice League and the MCU's The Avengers, «Dawn of the Seven» runs through familiar tropes like the New York tower location, the corny team-up moment, and the «Phil Coulson» agent (played by Greg Grunberg).
The Boys season 3's premiere («Payback») kicks off with a scene plucked straight from «Dawn of the Seven.» It's the final battle, and Homelander is joined by Queen Maeve, A-Train, Starlight and Black Noir against Stormfront as the film's main villain (thanks to some hasty reshoots by Tony Gilroy). In a shocking and totally unexpected flex, the actress playing Stormfront here is none other than Mad Max: Fury Road and Atomic Blonde's Charlize Theron. A Hollywood movie star getting an uncredited one-scene cameo in The Boys is stunning in itself, but even better is how the MCU parody is now predicting the real thing.
