Warning: SPOILERS for The Boys season 3
The sometimes-controversial animal rights organization, PETA, honors The Boys season 3’s disturbing octopus scene. Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic of the same name, Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys was created by Eric Kripke alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. As a satirical take on the superhero genre, the series follows a vigilante group of non-powered people as they attempt to take down/expose corrupt “Supes” and the multi-billion-dollar conglomerate that enables them.
Among The Boys’ Supe roster is DC's Aquaman parody Deep, a.k.a. Kevin Moskowitz (Chace Crawford). In addition to being able to breathe underwater and communicate with marine life, Deep is a sexual deviant; he forced himself on Starlight in season 1, which ultimately got him kicked out of The Boys' equivalent of the Justice League, the Seven. In season 3 episode 3, “Barbary Coast,” Deep returns to the Seven, albeit at a cost. Following an earlier scene in which he gets off to an octopus in his fish tank, Homelander decides to serve him said octopus, Timothy. To prove his loyalty to the Seven, Deep is forced to eat his close friend as the live octopus begs for its life.

In an official statement, PETA’s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange says, “The Boys’ real heroes
