WARNING: Spoilers ahead for The Boys season 3
Herogasm hasn't been referenced in The Boys season 3 whatsoever thus far… or has it? Amazon has promised much for The Boys' currently-airing season 3 — more wacky superpowers, more gruesome bloodshed, and the debauched spectacle that is Herogasm rendered in glorious live-action. Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's original The Boys comic books reveal the Herogasm event is essentially a giant, secret party for superheroes where anything and everything goes. Imagine the most depraved Las Vegas bachelor party of all time, amplify the horror tenfold, and you're approximately halfway to understanding the intensity and awfulness of Herogasm.
Live-action Herogasm was confirmed for The Boys season 3 by showrunner Eric Kripke shortly after season 2's conclusion. Though Kripke wouldn't be drawn on specifics, of course, he promised the episode would be something to behold. Those sentiments have since been echoed by various cast members, who have all spoken of their experience filming Herogasm with a mixture of amazement, pride and trauma. Since The Boys season 3's episode titles have all been revealed in advance, audiences also know episode 6 is when the mother lode erupts, with «Herogasm» the very title of this particular installment.

Strangely, however, The Boys season 3 has made no overt attempt to set up Herogasm in its first four episodes. No hints of a big Vought party, no mention of the event itself, and nothing to explicitly suggest why a bonanza so wild and ridiculous would even take place (especially when every single main character aside from Homelander is abjectly miserable).
