Ian Terry may be remembered as one of the smartest Big Brother winners among fans, but the former two-time houseguest says that he has no plans to continue watching future seasons. Ian, who described himself as a «superfan» when he entered the Big Brother season 14 house in 2012, successfully won the $500,000 grand prize in an almost-unanimous vote against Big Brother season 10 winner Dan Gheesling. Besides having to compete against Dan, who is regarded as one of the greatest Big Brother players across the franchise, Ian was also up against former contestants-turned-mentors (who were then sent back into the house as players) Mike «Boogie» Malin, Britney Haynes, and Janelle Pierzina.
Almost 10 years later, Ian returned as a houseguest for Big Brother: All Stars (season 22), where he became the first member of the Jury after being evicted on Day 44. While Ian had a successful first run on Big Brother, he was ultimately backdoored (nominated for eviction after being unable to play for safety) due to being a perceived threat by the others. Despite being regarded as a strong player by his peers, however, multiple houseguests were caught making fun of Ian's rocking, which is a self-soothing behavior from being on the autism spectrum. Newlyweds Christmas Abbott and Memphis Garrett, along with Nicole Franzel and Dani Briones, were intensely criticized by Big Brother audiences for their comments, especially as Big Brother has a history of unintentionally casting controversial houseguests.
