Warning: This article contains spoilers forThe Boysseason 3 episode 5.
The creator of The Boys has teased that Maeve is in grave danger in the next episode of season 3. The Prime Video show, which is based on the DC/Wildstorm comic series of the same name, is an irreverent take on the superhero mythos that follows a group of vigilantes bent on taking down The Seven, a parody of the Justice League. One of the key figures in The Seven is Queen Maeve, played by Dominique McElligott. She has a close resemblance to Wonder Woman, but she is burnt out by the Supe lifestyle and has become disillusioned with what The Seven are doing.
The most recent episode of The Boys was episode 5, «The Last Time to Look on This World of Lies,» aired on June 17. That episode included a major moment for Queen Maeve when she had a drunken sexual encounter with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), the leader of The Boys. Afterward, she is ambushed by Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) in retaliation for an argument with The Seven leader Homelander (Antony Starr). The episode ended without revealing what exactly happened to Maeve, which could be grave, especially considering the fact that she has turned against The Seven and has been surreptitiously supplying Butcher with Temp-V.
