A new trailer for The Boys season 3's Herogasm episode has a comically long content warning. Herogasm refers to the six-issue spin-off miniseries of The Boys comic where the Supes all team up under the guise of fighting a worldwide threat but get together for a giant superhero orgy. The Herogasm comic by writer/creator Garth Ennis and artist John McCrea was meant to be a parody of the annual superhero event team-ups that both Marvel and DC typically do, but done in the excessive style of The Boys universe.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has promised a version of Herogasm for the show, which finally arrives in The Boys season 3, episode 6, debuting on June 24th on Prime Video. The episode has already generated a lot of hype in terms of controversy, with Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles saying that the crew looked «traumatized» while filming it. Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight, noted that the Herogasm scenes were filmed for five straight days of 12+ hour days of nudity and depravity, which she called «amazing, hilarious, and scarring at the same time.» Kripke has said that fans of the comic will be pleased, despite some apparent changes in multiple respects to characters and events, and that they will be getting the «full 'Herogasm' experience.»
