Weta Workshop promised the trailer for Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game would debut soon and has finally provided a date. It airs on April 22nd with a short ten-second teaser available on Twitter. Though it doesn’t show much beyond the Baggins’ home in The Shire, the soft storybook-like visuals look relaxing.
That should fit well with the game’s premise of living a “cosy Hobbit life”, though further gameplay details are pending. Based on everything seen thus far, it could be a life sim with some potential farming elements. The presence of a scarecrow on the lower-right side of the teaser at least indicates the same.
The full trailer should hopefully provide more details on the gameplay loop, so stay tuned. It could also announce a release window, if not the actual launch date when it airs. Tales from the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is published by Private Division and set to launch this year for consoles and PC.
