After months of silence, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars has finally resurfaced, and with a final release date to boot.
In today's Nintendo Partner Direct, it has been confirmed that the collection featuring the first two entries in the beloved JRPG series by Konami will be released on March 6th on Nintendo Switch. Konami has yet to confirm the release date for PC and PlayStation consoles, but it will likely be the same as the Nintendo Switch release. A new trailer showcasing some of the remasters' features was also shared online, and you can find it below.
As showcased in the trailer above, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars will come with plenty of improvements over the original releases, such as enhanced visuals featuring pixel sprites and environments with new screen effects and shadow animations, redone character portraits and more. The two games will both receive some gameplay improvements and new quality-of-life features such as a dialogue log, auto-battle, the ability to speed up battles, and more. For the rest, it will be the same classic JRPGs that fans have come to love. The second game, in particular, is considered by many the best entry in the series and one of the best JRPGs ever released, thanks to its excellent story and gameplay.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars launches on March 6th on Nintendo Switch. The game should be released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles on the same day.
