Spectre Divide, Mountaintop Studios’ upcoming free to play 3v3 multiplayer tactical shooter, now has a release date.
Following shortly on the heels of its latest playtest, Mountaintop has announced that Spectre Divide’s full launch is imminent, and the game will arrive on Steam in just a couple of days from now on Tuesday, September 3 at 9AM PT. This is a global release, so no you can’t play early by magically moving to Australia for a couple of hours.
Casual mode will be the only mode available at launch, though ranked play will follow it not long after. The game’s launch update will also include the new map Commons and the requisite rotating shop with plenty of cosmetics for players to purchase, ranging from weapon skin bundles to various outfits.
Spectre Divide will also feature an in-game social system called “Crew” that will see players sorted into a Crew after they complete their first three matches. With up to 60 players per Crew, players will compete against rival Crews in their division in weekly competitions to climb the leaderboards. Current rewards for this system are minimal with only a star being placed next to the names of the top participating Crew members, though Mountaintop has plans for seasonal rewards including gun charms and sprays in the future.
