Smite 2, the sequel to 2014’s free-to-play third person mythological MOBA, has entered 24/7 closed alpha this week. Titan Forge Games released a new trailer to mark the milestone for the Unreal 5 engine powered sequel.
A number of new features have been introduced with the kickoff of the 24/7 closed alpha, including God progression and Ascension passes. Both of these features allow players to unlock a variety of cosmetics for their favorite Gods as they play. Ascension Passes are available via the Deluxe and Ultimate Founder’s Editions and can also be purchased a la carte for individual Gods if desired.
Ranked play is also available with the addition of the game’s first Ranked Test Season. Players now have additional options when doing battle with two new Gods joining the fray, bringing the game’s total playable Gods to 23. Those new Gods include Mordred, Breaker of the Round Table and Jing Wei.
Smite 2’s Closed 24/7 Beta testing is scheduled for late 2024 and will be followed with the full free-to-play open beta sometime in 2025. In the meantime, players will need toregister for alpha on the game’s official website or purchase a Founder’s Edition on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, or Epic Games Store to gain access.
