The first Starfield patch is here, a small and humble hotfix for the long-awaited space RPG, but Bethesda has also discussed what’s coming down the line in future, with official DLSS support and an ‘eat food’ option when scrounging around the world. I can’t wait!
Let’s look at the 13th September hotfix for Starfield, which irons out a few kinks in performance and stability for the game, as well as targeting three quests that could end up impossible to complete. Here’s the full patch notes.

Looking to the future and the stars will eventually align on a slew of much-requested features in the community. These include:
Up until this point, finding food while exploring jas almost more trouble than it was worth. You’re only able to chuck it into your inventory list, and then have to trawl through said list if you’d ever want to actually eat it. All that scrolling for just 3, 5, or 10HP? I’d rather starve! Soon you’ll be able to just scarf everything down right in front of your chosen companion, scarring them for life with your insatiable eating habits.
Elsewhere are some straightforward graphics options, though we’re not sure if HDR calibration will affect the rather SDR limits that the game currently places on the image, even if your TV kicks into HDR mode. And there’s going to be official DLSS support, though this has been smashed into the game already by enterprising modders.
Speaking of which, full mod support will be coming early next year using Bethesda’s homegrown Creations system. This will allow mods to work across both PC and Xbox Series X|S, similar to how there was cross-platform support for mods added to Skyrim and Fallout 4. Up until then, they’ll work on spot fixes and improvements
