A Starfield player has built an impressive recreation of the Serenity from the cult classic sci-fi series Firefly. The build has impressed gamers and its creator has put together a helpful guide on how fans can make one for themselves in Starfield.
Firefly was a short-lived sci-fi show that aired for only one season, between 2002 and 2003. Despite being axed early on, the show acquired enough of a fanbase that it ultimately received a movie, titled Serenity, just two years after the series went off the air. Sadly, the Firefly universe has gone silent since, and controversy surrounding show creator Joss Whedon in recent years may have further dampened the chances of it ever coming back. Fans continue to hold on to hope that the franchise will return in some shape or form, whether as a game or a new TV show, but in the meantime, fans can revisit the humble ship in Bethesda's Starfield.
Starfield's official Twitter account highlighted the Firefly build that was put together by Starshipwright. The recreation is practically flawless, replicating the transport ship's bird and insect qualities nicely. It's far from the most impressive design to take flight in Starfield, but that's the point. The Serenity was never intended to be a hyper-futuristic, sleek ship. A recurring theme in the TV show and movie was that the Firefly-class ship was constantly on the verge of falling apart, more akin to the ships in Cowboy Bebop than those in Star Trek.
Several fans wondered if there was a build guide so that they could create their own Serenity, and for those players, Starshipwright came through. On their own account, they shared how they put the ship together, noting that the ship is a glitch build. Players who want to revisit their own little corner of the Firefly universe can now travel the Starfield universe as Captain Mal.
