Insomniac Games has announced that they’ve had to delay the Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus update until 2024, to ensure everything’s up to the company’s usual high standards.
Writing on the thing that used to be Twitter, the Spider-Man 2 team said, “We know players have been eagerly awaiting features such as New Game+ and Audio Descriptions, among many more. We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards.”
With a new target of Early 2024 for the next game update, they’re still taking their time to outline all of the features that will be included, and see what else they can check off the list. That means they’re also able to address some player feedback and add further features, including the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colours, and replay missions.
Spider-Man 2 was the marquee PlayStation 5 exclusive for the end of this year, with Insomniac delivering yet another fantastic showcase for Sony’s latest console. Alongside some glowing reviews, the game got off to a fantastic start at the tills, with PlayStation and developer Insomniac announcing that 2.5 million copies of the game were sold within the first 24 hours.
