Sony's newest update to the PlayStation 5 has left many fans confused and frustrated as it removes the 'Resume Activity' option from the menu. Over a month ago, players woke up to find that the 'Resume Activity' option was gone after the update had changed the Activity Cards on the menu.
The decision seemed to have come out of nowhere, leaving most fans baffled at best and angry, as there was no communication about why this removal was made or if it was even intentional. With the release of the newest patch, however, it appears Sony has permanently removed the option and left multitudes of fans enraged.
Zarmeena Khan at noted that when she turned on her PlayStation 5 after the latest patch was released, a patch that was meant to improve activities, the 'Resume Activity' button was still gone. This solidified the idea that its removal was no mistake on Sony's part.DunnoMouse on Reddit stated, "."
After months of rumors that it was in the works, Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be launching in November 2024, with promises of a deep-learning image upscaling system entitled PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, fast-ray tracing performance that's double the speeds of the base PS5 to support 4K resolutions, and 2 TB internal SDD storage unite. Despite these various upgrades, though, I don't think I'll be purchasing the PS5 Pro anytime soon, not only as an optical disc drive has to be purchased separately, but also because the base console's cost is $700 USD, a steep request when I already own an Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch and have a backlog of games there.
There were also comparisons to Xbox's «Quick Resume», a popular feature for Xbox users.
