The logo for the third Sonic movie has been officially revealed and it contains a nice nod to the logo for Sonic Adventure 2 which is, of course, where Shadow the Hedgehog debuted.
After months of rumours and leaks, we've finally just been given our first look at Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Well, to be more precise, we've been given a look at how Shadow the Hedgehog's legs are going to look in Sonic 3. That reveal should be enough for Sonic fans, but the tease actually has something more interesting hiding in the, pardon the pun, shadows. Sorry.
As pointed out by Twitter user SLOplays, the teaser image also gives us our first look at the logo for the third Sonic movie. Not only does it reveal that the film is apparently dropping "the hedgehog" from its title and just calling itself Sonic 3, but the logo itself is also one big reference to Sonic Adventure 2, with the same blue and red swirl representing Sonic and Shadow that can be seen in that game's logo.
It's a little hard to see in the original image since it's so dark, but brightening the teaser up and taking a closer look clearly shows a red hedgehog-shaped swirl around the bottom and a blue swirl around the top that is facing the opposite direction, which replicates the Sonic Adventure 2's logo perfectly.
This actually isn't the first version of Sonic 3's logo that we've seen, as one was shown off before the film was even released, clearly teasing Shadow but not being as blatant about it as the latest version is.
