Lego discovered gamers want their favorite characters and backdrops to be turned into toy bricks when it released its first wave of Super Mario items. Mario Lego gets new sets all the time, and in March, the first Animal Crossing sets will join them. Sonic has quickly become the video game character with the most sets after his plumbing rival, though. What started as a Lego Ideas submission has turned into an entire collection, and next month, Knuckles and Rouge will join that collection.
The next additions to Sonic's Lego world were revealed at the end of October via a leaked image, confirming Shadown, Knuckles, and Rouge would be joining Sonic, Tails, and Amy. Shadow's time has come as the Shadow's Escape set is available now. The manual that comes with it revealed how exactly Knuckles and Rouge will enter Sonic's Lego world. Via a set that puts Knuckles in a mech as he seemingly tries to defend a Master Emerald from Rouge, and Lego has now revealed images, a price, and a release date for the new set.
Coming on January 1, 2024, the Knuckles Guardian Mech set is 276 pieces and puts the world's most famous echidna into his very own mech. Knuckles' Minifigure can be seen sitting in the mech which is fully posable so you can make it seem as if it's fighting off Rouge or any other Lego characters you might have once complete. Speaking of Rouge, her Minifigure is also included with the set and has its own flying bat mech, perfect for avoiding Knuckles as she tries to steal the Master Emerald.
The set isn't a huge one so will be more reasonably priced, costing just $34.99 when it launches next month. Slightly more expensive than the Shadow's Escape set, but it is quite a lot bigger. Sadly it won't be with you in time for the
