Someone Has Bought Every Magic: The Gathering Card
Last week, Magic: The Gathering collector MissouriMTG revealed on Twitter that they had purchased a copy of every single card ever printed in an unprecedented haul.
"Every card or every complete booster set? Every judge foil, every secret lair, every commander deck is in there? Beatdown? Anthologies? Guru lands?" @Syd_Lexia asked.
"Everything," @MissouriMTG simply replied.

People understandably flocked to congratulate, share their awe, and ask the price. Given how expensive some individual cards go for, with the Black Lotus selling for a record-breaking $540,000 in March, I'd imagine that an entire collection consisting of every MTG card would be a hefty investment. That being said, @MissouriMTG hasn't revealed how much it set them back.
They purchased this set as part of a "Buying trip" that took them to Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, and New York City. He tweeted as much on May 30, saying that he had "Something crazy in the works". This initial tweet garnered 132 likes and didn't generate much buzz, but when @MissouriMTG revealed the fruits of this buying trip, it immediately went viral among the MTG community. As of writing, their tweet has 10,000 likes, 803 retweets, and 455 bookmarks.
It looks as though @MissouriMTG is keeping the singles for himself as part of his own collection, but selling the boosters. In a follow-up tweet made on May 31, he said, "Booster boxes are also available through dm", attaching a photo of several shelves full. The actual collection of singles is neatly organised in marked folders using each set's icon and name.
