Epic Games has revealed all of the new gameplay features that are coming to Fortnite's latest season, The Wilds, including a thermal DMR, camouflaging in the jungle, and fighting in canopies.
Along with revealing how the map has changed as part of Chapter 3, Season 4, Epic has released a gameplay trailer for The Wilds that details the new gameplay mechanics and features that Fortnite players are going to learn over the next few months, including camouflage, canopies, new weapons, and rideable velociraptors.

The gameplay trailer begins by showing several players jumping down into the new jungle area, which can be found in the centre of the map. One of the big new features of this area is the ability to camouflage yourself by sliding into mud, which slowly covers up your body. According to the Fortnite website, sliding through the mud will speed you up more than just regular sliding, as well as adding camo to your character.
The jungle also has a level of verticality to it, which can be seen with the new wood vines. These wood vines are similar to the grind rails that feature in Mega City, only they now twist and turn a lot more. They also seem to lead up to the canopies, which are another big feature of this season. We can see in the trailer that players can stand on top of the trees while fighting, which should lead to some intense firefights.
We also get a glimpse of one of the season's new weapons - the Kinetic Boomerang. The Fortnite website reveals that the Kinetic Boomerang will not only hit whatever is in front of it, but that it can also hit things on its way back. Players can even recall the boomerang if they miss, which also causes a small explosion.
