A new piece of concept art from the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake has been revealed to the world. The art shows an interesting twist on an enemy design from the original Silent Hill game, with the reinvented version being made by the same artist who designed the original monster.
After practically endless rumors about the revival of the Silent Hill series, Konami revealed a swath of new projects based on the survival horror franchise in 2022. One of these was Silent Hill 2, a remake being built from the ground up by Bloober Team, with some returning staff members from the original version, like Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito.
Silent Hill f Dev Teases Fans About the Title's Meaning
Now, new artwork from Masahiro Ito has been released, detailing a new take on the iconic Bubble Head Nurse. The artwork was shared during Game Invest Forum, highlighting some praise Bloober Team has received. Beside it was the new art, showing a Bubble Head Nurse with a few cosmetic changes to her appearance from the original game. Most notably, this Bubble Head Nurse wears heels with ankle straps, while the original wore fairly flat shoes, and this one wears stockings with garters, while the original had bare legs.
Other than those differences, the Bubble Head Nurse art looks very similar to the version that launched with Silent Hill 2. Over the years, many versions of the Bubble Head Nurses have emerged in subsequent games and in artwork released by Masahiro Ito. However, they were originally intended to be a manifestation of a tormented conscience in Silent Hill 2, so it makes sense to stick fairly close to the enemy's original design. Ito himself has confirmed this art as official, pointing out that the slide reversed the image.
