A new rumor has appeared that Starfield will be getting a very special unveiling.
Karim Jovian, who describes himself on his profile as a digital media producer and interviewer, tweeted this out a few hours ago:
“Just got word from a confidential source that Microsoft will be holding a interactive launch event for #Starfield
Let’s just say, they were really excited when talking to me about it”
When asked why Microsoft did not opt for a physical launch, this is what Karim had to say:
“Reason why is because a lot of purchases are digital nowadays, let alone most players already have it on Gamepass. But who knows.”
We should be clear that Karim hasn’t tweeted anything to substantiate this rumor, such as a screenshot, or the word of a credible insider or journalist who has gotten leaks correct before. But it does sound like something Microsoft would try, based on what they have done recently.
And that thing they recently did was hold a gigantic Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct event two months ago. For readers who were not aware or don’t remember, Microsoft held this event in lieu of a physical presence at this year’s E3. This was to be a two hour event, where they featured and revealed games for an hour and a half, and had a final half hour dedicated just to Starfield.
But, I didn’t describe this as a digital only event, and that’s because it was not strictly digital only. Microsoft also worked with Fathom Events to screen the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct in theaters across the US, as part of their Xbox FanFest.
Still, there’s some mystery to what an interactive launch event could be. We know that the game goes into Early Access this coming August 31, 2023. It isn’t exactly like they could offer
