Lords of the Fallen, the Souls-like action RPG, has been shaping up nicely for some time now – as we pointed out in a recent preview. However, one thing that fans had been criticising on social media were the sound effects – particularly in a couple of IGN previews. To developer Hexworks’ credit, it’s responded swiftly, and released a short Twitter clip showcasing the improvements it’s made:
There’s no doubt that compared to the original IGN videos this sounds so much better: each attack is crisper in the mix and a lot more satisfying overall. Whether this was a bug or unfinished part of the preview build is unclear, but the main thing is that the team has cleaned things up prior to launch.

Maybe I'll pick it up later but right now I'm just pretty burnt out on Souls-likes especially since ER didn't wow me like it did many others. It doesn't help that the next few months are stacked with a lot more interesting genre games for me.
Heh… I've written the exact same thing on August 16'th as a comment to one of IGN's previews (the one with the first 13 minutes of gameplay I think it was). They need not only to improve the sound for the release version, but to get ahead of the issue and release gameplay videos ahead of release with the improved sounds — because this problem is spreading and leaves an important mark on the impressions of many potential buyers.
