During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, Inflexion Games (formerly Improbable Canada before getting acquired by Tencent) announced yet another delay for its debut game, the shared world survival crafting game Nightingale. The game was originally supposed to launch on early access in late 2022, but it was delayed to 2023 to upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 and to improve the overall polish.
Now, fans can look forward to a concrete release date, though it's not this year, as Nightingale is officially set to debut on February 22nd, 2024, via Steam and Epic Games Store. The pricing was divulged as well, and it'll be $29.99; the developer said it does not plan to increase it when the full game releases, which could be in late 2024 or early 2025 based on Inflexion's 9-12 months estimate for the early access period.
Aaryn Flynn, CEO of Inflexion Games and former General Manager at BioWare, stated:
After years of dedicated work from the team, we are thrilled to announce that Nightingale will enter Early Access on February 22nd, 2024. That date is a few months later than we previously announced. But as a studio, we’re committed to quality, and we take player satisfaction very seriously. We want to ensure that the game delivers on the expectations of our community, who have played a vital role in the development to date. We strive to ensure that Nightingale not only fulfills our vision but also becomes a cherished place for our players to explore and discover with their friends for many years to come.
