A recent rumor hints at some of the technology behind the supposed Nintendo Switch successor. Speculation about the eventual follow-up to the highly successful Nintendo Switch has been spreading as far back as 2019, but there has been very little confirmation about when this new mystery console will be announced or what new features and technical improvements it will have over the now nearly-six-year-old Switch.
Despite endless rumors of a beefed-up Nintendo Switch Pro, the closest players have gotten to a brand-new, updated version of the Nintendo Switch so far has been the OLED model that was released last November — which added a larger, more vibrant touchscreen and little else. However, talk of a new Nintendo console resumed months before thanks to a leak from NVIDIA that implied that this new system would support DLSS for enhanced graphical performance. A few months ago, word broke out that Nintendo would start shifting its focus toward developing the successor to the Switch after The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches in May.

Earlier today, a Korean gaming insider by the handle of OreXda added more fuel to the speculation of a new Nintendo system in their latest leak. According to them, this new Nintendo hardware will utilize a new NVIDIA Tegra chip that will be built using Samsung's 5nm 5LPP — in contrast to previous rumors that this Tegra chip would use Ampere architecture instead.
