Koei Tecmo has unveiled Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening, the newest game in the long-running strategy series that started 40 years ago. The title will arrive digitally on July 20 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
As tradition with the franchise, players will attempt to unify Japan during the Warring States Period of the 16th century. There are over 2,200 AI officers to help with military tactics, dominion issues, and more in the strategy game.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening will also boast features celebrating the franchise's 40th anniversary, according to Koei Tecmo. For example, the company says to expect landmarks and achievements to mark the milestone and alter the strategy within the game.
While PS4 has seen a few of the franchise's games on the system--like Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence — Ascension as well as Taishi--this will be the first Switch entry to release in the West.
Koei Tecmo will also be offering a Digital Deluxe Edition of Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening. This version will come with an officer artbook, 40th anniversary book, complete soundtrack, exclusive scenario called Muskets Arrive, and more. Keep in mind none of these are physical products since the game is digital-only.
Earlier this month, Koei Tecmo launched Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. For more, check out GameSpot's Wo Long review.
