Street Fighter 6, the new entry in the fighting game series by CAPCOM, is right behind the corner, and so is a new officially licensed fighting stick by Hori that will launch alongside the game in two months.
The new Fighting Stick α, which will launch for the price of $229.99 in the United States, will be compatible with PC as well as with PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. An Xbox version of the stick hasn't been announced. Like other sticks from the manufacturer, the Fighting Stick α will come with high-quality parts such as Hori's Hayabusa stick and high-speed buttons, a tournament lock, audio, and mic controls. The stick will be easy to customize and will include link for 18 downloadable high-resolution images of the Street Fighter 6 launch roster with which to customize the stick's top panel.
With Street Fighter 6 launching in two months, interest in the franchise by CAPCOM is at an all-time high. Legendary Entertainment, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter, acquired film and TV rights for the franchise and will work with the Japanese publisher on any future project. Movie adaptations of the franchise, like the 1994 live-action movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile and Raul Julia as M.Bison, and 2009's The Legend of Chun-Li, weren't exactly great ones, but with so many good adaptations making their way onto the screen, such as the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and The Last of Us HBO show, it is likely the two companies will put extra care in their future projects.
Street Fighter 6 will release on June 2nd, 2023 worldwide on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You can learn more about the next entry in the series by checking out my preview based on the second round of closed beta
