In a recent discussion on Resetera, gamers have been debating the most emotional ending credits they ever encountered.
The discussion got started when a user by the name of Norsuchamp created a thread called Ending Credits That Made You Emotional, pointing specifically to Mario Kart 64, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy 9. “You can argue if the dialogue counts to the actual ending credits, but hey, they are included in the video which is titled Final Fantasy 9 Credits and so I'll take it,” Norsuchamp noted. “Song itself is a real tear jerker, but damn, those lines that Zidane and Garnet are saying to each other before the staff credits start rolling in.”

Several different games including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Nier: Automata have been frequently entering the conversation. Majora’s Mask has also popped up quite a few times, the user going by the name of Andrin for example noting how the end credits “are a perfect capstone to the game, showing off all of the people whose lives you've changed during your journey.” Andrin went on to explain how “the credits song reaching its crescendo on the scene of Pamela and her father embracing always drew me to tears as a kid.”
