The PS5 has a number of exclusives lined up for the coming months, and even though not a great many of them are first party titles, the one that is has had people excited for quite some time. Earlier this year, developer Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be out this Fall, and Sony has now also reiterated that it’s on track for launch.
In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Sony confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is on track to release this fiscal year. “We are also planning to release a major title, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, this fiscal year, and we aim to continue creating new IP, rolling out catalog titles for PC and strengthening live game service development.,” the company said.
The fiscal year, of course, ends on March 31 next year, but Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is likely to come out much earlier than that. As mentioned, it has an official launch window of Fall, while actor Tony Todd – who plays Venom in the game – recently suggested that the game will be out in September. Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal also recently said that his motion capture work on the game has wrapped up.
When we might get an official announcement for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or see some gameplay remains to be seen. Insomniac has asked for “a little more patience” from fans, and with Sony rumoured to have a PlayStation Showcase event planned for May, it might not be long before we see the game.
