The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has topped the weekly charts for physical software sales in the UK twice in a row since its launch, and it’s extended that run now by another week, as per data released by the Gfk (via GamesIndustry). In spite of a 50% drop in sales, it still maintains a healthy lead over FIFA 23, which hangs on to second place, while Hogwarts Legacy is still in third place as well.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was the notable new release of last week, though it was widely criticized upon release, which has been reflected in its sales as well. It debuted in No. 6, but has apparently endured quite a week launch in terms of units sold- though interestingly enough, its physical launch sales are still a little bit higher than what LEGO 2K Drive (which has fallen out of the top 10) managed on its debut last week. 70% of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’s sales came on PS5, 20% on Xbox, and 10% on PS4.
Meanwhile, the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Grand Theft Auto 5, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Dead Island 2 occupy places in the top 10 as well, as they have done over recent weeks.
