Who else grew up reading magazines like OPM, PSM2, and GamesTM? While print media has receded over the years, there's still a lot of passion for it among enthusiasts. There have been lots of high quality, independent mags cropping up, and RPM looks like another great example.
Spearheaded by Sandeep Rai, who previously penned books about PS Vita and PS3, RPM is a magazine that looks back on PlayStation. It focuses on the platform's history, filled with retro interviews, features, and reviews spanning PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, and PS Vita.
The project sought crowd funding on Kickstarter, and successfully met its target in just eight hours. The first issue is already complete, and work has begun on the second. The plan is to release three 60-page, ad-free issues per year. A stretch goal, which has yet to be reached, will see the production of an accompanying zine focusing on photo modes and digital photography.
Because the first issue is done, backers will see their pledges rewarded relatively quickly, with shipping of the physical mag estimated for late October. You can also get a digital PDF version, but where's the fun in that?
Anyway, it looks like a pretty nice product for PlayStation aficionados. What do you think of RPM? Are you interested in checking it out? Flick through to the comments section below.
