Sony Interactive Entertainment will broadcast a new State of Play live stream today.
Focusing on third-party games, Thursday’s PlayStation showcase will begin at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST. Sony hasn’t confirmed a runtime.
The event will be viewable live on YouTube, Twitch and TikTok, including via the YouTube video embedded at the top of this page.
The broadcast will focus on updates to previously announced games coming to PlayStation consoles.
“From indie and PS VR2 highlights, to major upcoming titles from our third-party partners, our latest show has something for everyone,” claimed Shawne Benson, PlayStation’s director and head of portfolio for global third-party relations.
Sony launched a major PS5 system update on Wednesday alongside a more minor PS4 update.
The PS5 one added support for Dolby Atmos HDMI devices like soundbars, TVs or home theatre systems. This enables the console to pass the PS5’s 3D Audio feature to Atmos devices by rendering the 3D Audio channels (including overhead ones) to Atmos speakers.
It also introduced new accessibility features, including the ability to assign a second controller as an ‘assist controller’ to a single account, as well as the ability to turn on haptic feedback while navigating the PS5 system menu.
PlayStation Remote Play is now supported on devices running Android TV OS 12, and new voice commands are available in the US and UK.
The PS4 update included messaging improvements and added the ability to sign in without a password using PS App.
