Games platform Roblox has set its sights on having one billion people using its service every day.
Speaking to investors for its quarter ending June 30th, CEO and co-founder Dave Baszucki said that the company hoped to manage this as part of its 'four part growth strategy'. Roblox is still a ways off one billion daily active users (DAUs); for the most recent financial quarter, the company reported 65.5 million DAUs, a 25 per cent increase year-on-year.
To reach one billion daily active users, Roblox would have to secure an increase of 1,426 per cent from where it is right now.
"Given the geographic and age diversity of our user base, along with investments in our product, we are confident that we are building a platform that could, over time, grow to support one billion DAUs," Baszucki told investors in a letter.
For the three months ending June 30th, Roblox saw a 15 per cent increase in revenue, bringing in $681 million, while bookings clocked in at $781 million. That's a 22 per cent increase.
