The Yakuza and Like a Dragon experiences are famed for including built-in side games that could probably exist on the PS Store all by themselves, and the upcoming Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name looks to be no different. Today SEGA has detailed what you can get up to off the main path, and it includes competing in the Coliseum, talking to some lovely ladies at the Cabaret Club, playing Pocket Circuit, and taking part in karaoke.
In addition, there'll be rounds of darts to play, shopping outlets to customise Kazuma Kiryu's look and style, and classic games like Fighting Vipers 2 and Daytona USA 2.
In the Coliseum, you'll compete in various event types to see who can beat their way to the top, either competing alone or with teammates. You'll be able to train allies and strategically position them in the arena for the best results. «Your more resilient allies should be placed on the front line, while your support members and allies with ranged weapons should be placed in the rear.» Head to the Fighters' Lounge to recruit new members or form a stronger bond with your current allies.
To wind down after a tough fight, you can head to the Cabaret Club when the sun goes down to meet with five new live-action models. You'll need to build up a relationship with them in order for things to develop in private.
Pocket Circuit then lets you race little toy cars across modes like Time Attack and Rival, while the selection of songs at karaoke bars now includes Sayonara Silent Night. This is a Christmas song that's about embodying «the feelings of a middle-aged man unable to tell the love of his life his true feelings. We wrote the song to capture the conflict in Kiryu as he wrestles with his decision to lead a life of solitude.»
