Is it really time for the next big Genshin Impact update already? Well, almost – it’s due out on 27th September, so a little over a week away. As you’d expect from v4.1, there’ll be updates to new Hydro city Fontaine, which will expand upwards to the Fortress of Meropide. It’s there the Archon Quest will continue, as the Traveller continues their search for Childe.
There’ll be two new boss enemies in the Millennial Pearl Seahorse and the Experimental Field Generator, while two new five-star characters will arrive. “Neuvillette, the Iudex of Fontaine, can unleash straight-line surging torrents dealing Hydro damage via Charged Attacks, and Wriothesley, the Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide, is adept at using melee attacks to deal Cryo damage,” the press release teases.
Primogems for all
In the first phase of the banner, Neuvillette will be paired with Hu Tao, while Wriothesley will be accompanied by Venti. In-game events will include a poetry competition with various minigames and the opportunity to unlock a four-star Catalyst. And with the game’s third anniversary around the corner, you can expect some big rewards, including 10 Intertwined Fates, 1,600 Primogems, four Fragile Resin, and new gadgets.
It seems like a strong update overall, then, albeit a little lower key than the big v4.0 expansion. Who will you be pulling for in this update?
