If you’re looking for an affordable Windows gaming laptop, Acer is preparing to launch a new Nitro model that’ll cost only $849.99 while packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics chip.
The 15.6-inch Nitro V 15 goes on sale in North America next month, and Acer is hailing it as one that “makes gaming more accessible.” The Nitro V 15 stands out for offering the RTX 4050, along with an Intel 13th generation Core i5-13420H processor, at a relatively low price. In contrast, similar gaming laptops with this Nvidia GPU can cost $999 or more.
The company plans on selling the $849 model on Acer.com and through Newegg. Other specs include a 144Hz refresh rate on a 1080p screen, 512GB of SSD storage, an Ethernet port, HDMI, and four USB ports.
On the downside, the laptop only comes with 8GB of RAM; 16GB will cost $999.99. But that higher price will get you a more powerful Intel Core i7-13620H, which packs 10 cores instead of eight.
The Nitro V 15 becomes even more affordable if you opt for an older Nvidia GPU. Acer plans on selling the laptop with an RTX 2050 for only $699.99 at Costco.com. Acer.com will also sell the Nitro V 15 with an RTX 3050 for $769.99. Both models have only 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Acer says other configurations will also be available with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. Stay tuned for our review.
