Known as Kuro no Kiseki in Japan, publisher NIS America has confirmed that it'll be bringing the RPG westwards in the summer of 2024. Its official English name is Trails through Daybreak, and it's coming to both PS5 and PS4.
This new beginning in Falcom's Trails saga first released in 2021, but over the last 18 months or so, NISA's been wasting no time in localising the increasingly popular series. With the release of Daybreak, the west will be just one game behind Japan (that game being Kuro no Kiseki II: Crimson Sin — Daybreak's 2022 sequel). It's honestly crazy to think that we're almost caught up on the franchise.
Trails through Daybreak takes place in the Republic of Calvard, a powerful nation that neighbours the Erebonian Empire — the setting of the Trails of Cold Steel titles. It features a new protagonist named Van Arkride, and the game strives to tell a more 'mature' story.
