Details and screenshots have leaked for PS5 console exclusive Rise of the Ronin via a Discord server run by the former insider The Snitch. We won't be hosting the images here, but click through to view them. They feature a look at the map, a quest description, and what looks like symbols for a skill tree. The game from Team Ninja is then described as a mix of Assassin's Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, and Dark Souls.
It's then claimed item descriptions link into the lore fuelling the wider world (ala every FromSoftware title since Demon's Souls), but the design of side quests is a lot more like the Ubisoft formula. You'll be able to pick between various difficulty options, there will be skill and technique trees, and you'll be able to choose between quality and performance mode to fine-tune the experience. Romance options will also be a thing, and the game is planned for release in Q1 of next year.
If the title really is aiming to launch in early 2024, then there's a good chance we'll see more of it this year — perhaps in a State of Play livestream or another PlayStation Showcase. Rise of the Ronin was always slated to come out next year, but this leak suggests it'll be in the first few months. For now, we know the game is an open world action RPG from the team behind Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
