Naraka: Bladepoint is coming to PlayStation 5 next week and adopting a free-to-play model on all platforms.
Developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games, the 60-player melee battle royale game was originally released for PC in August 2021, before making its way to Xbox Series X/S in June 2022 and Xbox One last December.
It will make its PlayStation debut on July 13 after attracting 20 million players in its first two years, according to NetEase,
At the same time, Naraka: Bladepoint will go free-to-play on all platforms. In an FAQ, NetEase said all in-game content will be available to new players who access the game for free, including game modes, events, cosmetics and character customisation options.
However, free-to-play users will have a cap of how quickly they can unlock new characters, which can be removed by purchasing Standard/Deluxe/Ultimate edition upgrades of the game.
Existing Naraka: Bladepoint owners will receive in-game currency depending on the edition of the game that they purchased, which can be used to unlock new heroes more quickly.
