According to a reliable Persona insider, Atlus "really wants" to make remakes of Persona and Persona 2 at some point in the future, even if it's currently not working on any more remakes besides Persona 3 Reloaded.
Yesterday, it was reported that Atlus currently doesn't have any more Persona remakes in the works aside from the recently-announced Persona 3 Reloaded, which is allegedly because all of its focus is currently on Persona 6. The same leaker who shared that information, MbKKssTBhz5, has followed up those claims with some more details which suggest that Atlus is interested in remaking at least two more games from the series.

Following those tweets, MbKKssTBhz5 clarified some of their claims about upcoming Persona projects, including giving more details on the long-rumoured fighting game. Although more information on that fighting game is certainly a good thing, the most interesting claim that they've now made is in regard to future Persona remakes.
In a tweet thread, MbKKssTBhz5 reiterated their claims that there are currently no other Persona remakes in the works at Atlus aside from Persona 3 Reloaded. However, they also stated that Atlus and Sega are "experimenting" with several different remake ideas across their various franchises, just that none of them are currently in production like Reloaded is. They then claimed that Atlus "really wants" to remake both Persona 1 and Persona 2.
MbKKssTBhz5 said, "Atlus and Sega are experimenting with many remake ideas for different franchises. But there is nothing in end production like P3RE right now. Atlus really wants to make a P1/P2 remake."
