The cover star for the first EA Sports FC game has seemingly leaked.
Dataminer billbil-kun, who has an excellent track record of product leaks, claimed yesterday that EA Sports FC 24 will be released on September 29.
Now they’ve posted further information about the game, which is the first football title from EA following the end of its partnership with FIFA, including the identity of its cover star.
While Kylian Mbappe was featured on the cover of FIFA 21, FIFA 22 and FIFA 23, it’s claimed the PSG star won’t be returning for EA Sports FC 24, at least not on the cover of the Standard edition.
Instead, Manchester City star Erling Haaland will reportedly appear on the box of EA Sports FC 24’s Standard edition.
Although billbil-kun has chosen not to share the image due to copyright reasons, they describe the cover as depicting Haaland “in a Champions League game, about to take a shot with one arm wide open”.
Haaland will also appear on the Ultimate Edition of the game, where he’ll be joined by 30 other past and present male and female players.
According to billbil-kun, the Ultimate Edition will feature in-game renders of 31 players including Vinicius Jr, Son Heung-min, Sam Kerr, Zinedine Zidane, Johann Cruff and Pelé.
As with the FIFA series, the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 24 will give players early access.
However, whereas FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition gave players three days of early access to the game, EA Sports FC 24 will reportedly give players a week of early access should they purchase the more expensive version.
EA teased earlier in the year that more information about the forthcoming reboot of the football franchise will be revealed this month.
