The beloved anime series is headed to a phone or PC near you.

Crunchyroll Games has announced a new upcoming game based on One Punch Man, the webcomic-turned-manga-turned-anime that began gaining major recognition in 2015. But One Punch Man: World isn't the series' first foray into the gaming world, and previous games in the franchise haven't always been successful. Still, based on the trailer, One Punch Man: World might looks to be quite loyal to the source material.
Crunchyroll senior VP of emerging business and Crunchyroll Games general manager Terry Li echoed this sentiment, calling the game «the most ambitious Crunchyroll Games title to date,» and describing the game as «an immersive online action game that transports players into the universe of One-Punch Man.»
«The game, developed by Perfect World, brings iconic characters and abilities to life with premiere production values that we are excited to unleash on anime fans and gamers,» Li added.
One Punch Man: World sees the series' titular bald superhero (who goes by Saitama when not donning his spandex) explore familiar locales from the anime and manga, teaming up with his student/sidekick Genos and other popular characters from the series to investigate Z-City, solve mysteries, and punch things really hard in the name of justice. The Hero Association (and the world at large) are spread thin and struggling after increasing monster attacks, but given Saitama's incredible strength, he's gotten a bit bored of things. But the appearance of a unique new challenger may be enough to get him--and the rest of his heroic friends--invested in the fight.
