2023 isn’t done yet; even if it were almost done, there has been plenty to talk about within the gaming community. For example, there have been numerous big-time releases alongside big-time announcements about what’s coming next year. One title that everyone has been enjoying talking about is Star Wars Outlaws. Ubisoft’s unique title aims to help gamers redefine what it means to live in the galaxy far, far away, and they’re excited to take part in it. The only people more excited are the dev team at Ubisoft, as they’ve been working hard to make the game feel special.
Key among them is the Narrative Director, Navid Khavari, who recently did an interview with Game Informer about the title and all it had to offer. One of the first things he noted was setting the mindset and tone for the game immediately. He stated that the “first step” for writing the title was understanding the “position” of protagonist Kay Vess.
She’s neither a Jedi, a soldier, nor a rebel of any kind. She’s a “scoundrel,” and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get out of that life. That frames the galaxy in a new life and opens up numerous possibilities on what you can do while also letting the team know what she can’t do. That’s why you’ll need to use blasters, grenades, and even your pet to help get the job done.
What might surprise you, though, is that Khavari loved the ability to put Star Wars Outlaws in between two of the original trilogy’s films:
