Having directed the original Resident Evil, its 2002 remake, and the original Resident Evil 4, legendary developer Shinji Mikami has obviously had a massive role to play in the series’ success, and though he hasn’t worked on Capcom’s survival horror franchise in many years, it seems he’s still enjoying the success it has continued to see in recent years.
It was recently confirmed that Mikami had left The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks, and in the time since then, he has been frequently posting Twitter updates about him playing the recently-released remake of Resident Evil 4. Recently, he confirmed that he has now finished the game, and that he “enjoyed it very much”.
A little over a year ago, Mikami said he was hoping to see the remake make narrative improvements over the original game- one would assume he is satisfied with it on that front, now that he’s finished it.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC. It sold over 4 million copies within its first two weeks. You can read our review of the game through here.
