With the likes of Gotham Knights and Redfall, we’ve had a few recent prominent examples of major games launching without 60 FPS options on current-gen consoles, which, as you might image, has led to plenty of dissatisfaction among players. Last year’s A Plague Tale: Requiem was another game that only supported 30 FPS on consoles at launch, and though the discontent surrounding it was less vocal owing to the game itself being a solid experience, the absence of a Performance Mode was still felt.
If, however, you’ve been waiting for the action-adventure title to add the option, there’s good news for you. Developer Asobo Studio and published Focus Entertainment have confirmed that with a new update, A Plague Tale: Requiem has added a Performance Mode option that will run the game at 60 FPS with lower resolution and graphical fidelity. In addition to consoles getting Performance Mode, the game as also added “additional graphic options” for PC players.
In our review of A Plague Tale: Requiem, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “A Plague Tale: Requiem expands and improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way, delivering a meaty, excellently crafted, visually stunning, and thoroughly engaging experience.” Read the full review through here.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, as well as Nintendo Switch via the cloud.
