Nintendo has rolled out the first The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom patch 1.1.1 for the Nintendo Switch, and we've got you covered with the release notes.
This new update is the first post-launch patch for the game after Nintendo rolled out a pre-launch update on May 11. Let's start off by saying that, going by the shared patch notes, this isn't a major patch, but it does contain some fixes that some players will be happy with.
In addition to addressing several issues that should improve the overall gameplay experience, this patch also contains a fix for an annoying progression issue that prevented some players from completing "The Closed Door" main quest. According to the release notes, those who've already experienced this issue will now be able to complete the quest by downloading this new update.
Unfortunately, we don't have additional details about the fixes for "several other issues" that Nintendo has mentioned in the patch notes. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available globally now for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo released the highly-anticipated sequel to 2017's BOTW last week, and as reported some days ago, global sales of the game already surpassed 10 million copies (in merely three days). As also reported, Tears of the Kingdom is already the fastest-selling Zelda entry in the franchise's history, and the fastest-selling Switch game to date.
