Street Fighter 6 has been out for a little while now, giving everyone the chance to get to grips with the current roster of characters. Well, that's all set to change soon, as Rashid of the Turbulent Wind is joining the fight later this month, as Capcom has announced that he will release on July 24.
Alongside the official announcement, we also got a brand new gameplay trailer showing off his new design in greater detail as well as a showcase of familiar and new moves that we'll have plenty of time to play around with when he releases. The gameplay trailer was then capped off with a look at his Level 3 Super, which involves poor Lily getting beaten to a pulp. Hey, Street Fighter 6 ain't big enough to have two powerful wind users floating around at the same time.

We probably should have expected Capcom to drop a release date for Rashid fairly soon, what with Street Fighter 6 having recently released a Fighter's Pass not too long ago centered around the best windy boy. In fact, that Fighter's Pass expires on July 23, just one day before Rashid enters the fray, so you'll have plenty of time to earn yourself some Rashid-flavored goodies for your Avatar before he drops.
While all you Rashid mains out there will be delighted to have him back, the release date is definitely an odd one. With EVO 2023 just around the corner, Street Fighter 6 pros are going to have a little under two weeks to make sure they know the ins and outs of the character before either taking him competitive or having to deal with him. Another solution is that Rashid could potentially be banned from the tournament, though that's fairly unlikely.
