Things are looking rather rosy for Borderlands fans right now. The long-awaited film will finally be released next month, and if Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is to be believed, the next game in the series is almost ready to be shown.
Speaking to GamesRadar+, Pitchford says that what's coming next to the franchise is going to be something fans will be lapping up, and perhaps most exciting of all, sounds like its reveal isn't very far out: «I’m confident that our fans are going to be very, very happy with the next video game project when we are ready to announce it. And I will tell you that we’re not going to be making people wait for a long time before we announce it.»
The last mainline entry in the series was 2019's Borderlands 3, although the fantasy-themed spinoff Tiny Tina's Wonderlands did somewhat whet our appetite in 2022. Boasting that he has the biggest and best team working on the project, Pitchford raved about the upcoming game: «I can't wait to talk about it! I wish I could just gush right now because we've got so much to say!»

It's not gonna be good at all if they keep the same writers.
I'll probably be very happy playing the game, too. Right up to the moment where the antagonist opens their mouths and I once again feel the pain of unskippable cutscenes.
Oh no! Someone predicting people are going happy with a video game.
What could possibly go wrong?
