Random: Pay Your Respects at SEGA's Like a Dragon: The Men Who Perished Exhibition | Push Square
If you're considering taking a trip to Japan in the coming months and have strong and unresolved feelings about the fate of characters from across Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's Yakuza / Like a Dragon franchises, then boy, do we have the cultural event for Kir-you. Beware of SPOILERS below.
Reported by Japanese-language outlet Famitsu and translated by Siliconera, the Like a Dragon: The Men Who Perished exhibition is being put on in partnership between publisher SEGA and department store chain Parco. Fans of RGG's melodramatic masterpieces can assemble to pay their respects to criminals we lost along the way.
Fake gravestones will be set up so fans can solemnly lay flowers on the graves of fallen fictional characters across the RGG universe. It'll cost about $5, and portraits of the deceased will mark the passing of characters like Han Joon-Gi, Akira Nishikiyama, Rikiya Shimabukuro, Homare Nishitani, Ryo Aoki, and Ryuhei Hoshino. You can even use your smartphone to summon a spooky AR version of the deceased for some morbid reason.
Of course, SEGA will be flogging all kinds of goodies for physical collectors, so if you happen to be in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from 30th December to 15th January, you should pay your respects. Further funerals will be held in Nagoya, 20th January to 4th February, and Sapporo, 16th February to 25th.
