The Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest will return in June, but in the meantime, Sony is allegedly hosting a new PlayStation Showcase this month. The company hasn’t confirmed the same, but Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb recently reported that it’s still coming.
On the recent Giant Bombcast, he said it’s still “happening this month apparently. But whether it’s next week or the week after, I honestly don’t know. It could be the end of the month, but I won’t be surprised if this does actually happen next week. It could happen at any moment.” While that doesn’t narrow things down, May is still seemingly the month for it to happen.
As for what it could reveal, Grubb reported that Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake will appear, which The Snitch corroborated. The latter also gave some weight to a new Astro Bot title potentially being revealed. There’s also a chance of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater appearing since PlayStation indicated it’s launching this year.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Sony also revealed the PS5 Pro, given all the rumors and its alleged release this Fall (which could slip to early 2025 due to the lack of first-party titles). As always, stay tuned for an official announcement on the showcase and its timings.
